The Double-Birthday Party!
As most of you know, Andrea and Kevin are exactly 2 years and 2 days apart in age. Since their birthdays are so close together, we decided to have one birthday party for both of them (while they'll still let us!). It was a beautiful day. We had lots of friends and family over. The kids had water toys to play with, and everyone had fun. So much good stuff was going on that day, that Grandma G. was official photographer for the event. Thanks to her, we have a whole bunch of great photos of the party!

Kevin's 1st Birthday
We had a quiet day at home for Kevin's birthday. In the evening, Kevin opened his presents from Mommy and Daddy.
"Clothes . . . okay, what else?"

"Cool trike!" Andrea's taking Kevin for a ride!***
For a special birthday treat, Daddy took us out to get ice cream after Kevin finished opening his presents. Kevin always winces and makes faces when we give him ice cream, because it's cold on his sensitive gums. Tonight, he kept crying for more, even though he made a face every time he took a bite!

On the way home, Daddy decided to go through the car wash. I don't think Kevin's been through one since he only a few months old. Well, he was interested at first, but when the high pressure spray hit the windows, he freaked out! He was screaming, and shaking, and started to cry. Poor little guy! (Yes, mean mommy got a picture, but also put down the camera as soon as she saw how upset he was, and tried to comfort him.)
When we got home, both Kevin and Andrea needed a bath (sticky ice cream monsters!). Usually they bathe separately, because Kevin goes to bed earlier than Andrea. Tonight I put them in together, and both kids got a lot of fun out of it. Andrea was excited to have a playmate in the bathtub, and Kevin was excited that Andrea was willing to play with him! Kevin soon got over his car-wash trauma. This was also his first time in a bubble bath. At first Kevin didn't know what to make of the bubbles, but then he had fun swishing them around with his hands. Soon, he and Andrea got into a lively splashing game. It was so good to see them enjoying an activity together . . . even if it turned my bathroom into a flood zone!
