Andrea's daycare teacher had an interesting story for Daddy when he went to pick her up last night:
The kids were having free play time. A teacher suddenly noticed that they were missing three toddlers! After a quick and anxious search, they found Andrea and two friends calmly playing with blocks, out in the nearby hallway. The teachers were baffled: How did the toddlers get out of the room? They knew the door had been closed, and there is a toddler-proof handle on the door.
So, they brought Andrea and her friends back in, and let all the toddlers wander around near the door. In a few minutes, Andrea walked up to the door, grabbed the knob, turned it, and was heading out of the room!
The teachers were amazed. They had never seen a toddler who could open that door, because it has a special baby-proof cover on the knob. Somehow, Andrea figured out just the right spot to place the pressure as she turned it, and escaped with a few of her friends!
I wonder how they'll stop Andrea now?! It's so crazy. We don't have those types of doorknobs at home--she must have watched the adults and figured it out, or maybe stumbled upon the trick by accident. (?)
