First Stroller Ride and First Immunizations

The week of April 1st, the weather was very warm--almost summer-like! On the first day it was warmer out, Andrea and I took Ryan for his first stroller ride. We only walked to the mailboxes and back (about 5 minutes there and back) just to see what Ryan thought of the stroller.

"Where are we going, Andrea?"

"I'm not so sure about this . . ."
(sorry about the sideways pic--technical difficulties with Blogger)

"Get me in the house, and feed me!"
Ryan was quiet until we stopped at the mailboxes. Then he started to wail. He cried most of the way home. I hope it was just because he was hungry! We hope to go for lots more walks soon.
First Immunizations

Papa and I took Ryan for his 2-month check-up and first immunizations at the family doctor. I'm not sure exactly what he weighed, but Papa thinks the doctor said 11 pounds, which sounds about right.

I told her about how we have been mixing formulas, and she said that's fine, as long as Ryan responds well to it. Basically, it's a case of "whatever works."

Ryan did pretty well for his immunizations. He gave a pretty loud screech after the second one, which is the more painful one, but fell asleep about half a minute after. He did act a bit unusual for about 12 hours after the shots, with lots of crying and not wanting to eat much, but we was fine after that.

In general, Ryan is in good health. However, the doctor did notice something that has her a little concerned. We are going to take Ryan to see a pediatrician because he frequently draws in deeply when he breathes. There's a little spot in the middle of his chest that kind of looks like it's caving in when he does this. I had noticed this a long time ago. At first I thought it was just a newborn thing, or maybe a preemie thing, but since he didn't seem bothered by it or seem to be showing any other symptoms, I kind of forgot about it, and accepted it as a Ryan thing. Therefore, I'm glad our doctor noticed it, and decided we should get it checked out. Like she said, it's probably nothing, but it's better to get him checked by a specialist. We don't have an appointment yet, but should soon.
